Keeping a Log

So, after going through College Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Calculus 3, Linear Algebra, and Intro to Higher Math, I have learned all different types of study methods for math courses. Studying is hard in general, but studying math is a whole different story...especially in the higher level stuff. I have tried various methods over and over again; some work and some don't.

What I have found to be best, for me at least, is to keep a little book with you, on top of your notes and textbook and handouts. In this little book, approximately 3.5" x 5", write down definitions and theorems, in your own words. Write down one or two examples, Draw some pcitures, diagrams, etc. Make a list of steps if need be. And then look over you little book of magic every now and then.

The best part is, during finals prep, at the and of the school term you don't have to panic; just look over your old tests and your "recipe book."

Oh, and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE seems to help. ;-)
